KPOP obsession with hair colour over the years

 

Korea was a trend setter in terms of hair colours and then it was later the base of experimenting different colours and popularizing it globally. Originally the hair colour of Koreans are Black or Dark brown but past three-four years have resulted in different variations of colours which made every colour – perfect one.

According to the sources, Idols look extra ordinarily amazing with their dyed hair but in reality they go through a lot of hair damage including split ends and hair-fall due to constant use of bleach. 

Coloured hair has been a trend since the 90’s but now it  has gotten more and more bold since the start of K-pop boy groups. Most of the time it was either brown, light brown, blond or red back then but now these days hair colour has gotten more vibrant.

Let’s talk about some of the most iconic hair colours that these Idols have outshined in the recent years:

Jimin’s Rainbow look 

      This look was the most catchy hair experiment during the release of Butter music video by BTS. Though fans said that not only Jimin but every members look was killing and awesome.

Rose’s Ginger blonde

Blackpink’s member Rose made her blonde hair debut in mid-2018s and since then that look became her signature look. No wonder this colour is made for her as it suits her perfectly and gives her a signature hair.

Kai’s Neon hair

EXO’s member Kai introduced his fans to a whole new creativity with his hair in 2020 when he released his first ever solo album. He made his hair go neon-green in the music video of “음 (Mmmh)”.

Yeji’s Orange tinge

Famous K-pop idol Yeji  from Itzy came out with her stunning hair transformation in 2021 when she earned the “Artist of the month” in march. Her dance cover on “River” went viral which gave Yeji a tremendous boost in her career. Fans loved the look of Yeji with her Orangish hair.

Winter's blue magic

Aespa's lead vocalist Winter got pepped with her new look last year when she introduced her brown-blue combo during a concert.The colour was literally made for her though that look was not last long and she changed that colour after few weeks.

G-dragon's cotton candy hair 

In the music video of the single "Crayon" the most popular member of  Big-Bang showed up with his absolutely flawless Frozen themed hair. Fans compared his hair with cotton candy and also expressed their love on social media.
